ß-CAROTIN

ß-CAROTIN is designed to support the fertility in mares as well as the mating performance and sperm quality in stallions. As fertility disorders can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A and vitamin E as well as omega-3 fatty acids, ß-CAROTIN provides a well-balanced composition to cover an increased demand which especially can occur in breeding horses.

ß-Carotene is a precursor of vitamin A with antioxidant effects, positive influence on the formation of follicles and the corpus luteum in the mare’s ovary. In mares, ß-carotene stimulates the hormone synthesis in the ovaries, encouraging regular cycle activity and estrus. Stallions can react to a ß-carotene deficiency with the regression of testicular tissue, which severely impairs spermatogenesis and testosterone synthesis. This results in poor sperm quality and reluctance to cover the mare.

Vitamin A can stimulate the synthesis of sex hormones (LH/FSH), which promotes the maturation of the follicle and the formation of the uterine mucosa to get ready for the nidation of a fertilized egg cell.

Vitamin E (antioxidant) contributes to the protection of uterine cell walls against the penetration of pathogens.

Fish oil facilitates the absorption of vitamin A in the small intestine. Fish oil is rich in highly digestible unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (EPA + DHA) which can promote cell renewal.

COMPOSITION

Dextrose, Fish oil 8%, Calcium carbonate. Additives/kg: Vitamins and pro-vitamins: Vitamin A (3a672a) 200000 IU, Beta-carotene (3a160(a)) 10000mg, Vitamin E/all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (3a700) 10000mg. Compounds of trace elements: Iron (II) chelate of protein hydrolysates (3b107) 1700 mg. Preservatives: Sorbic acid (1a200) 4000 mg. Analytical constituents: Moisture 12%, Ash 11.6%, insoluble in HCl 5%, Protein 4%, Fat 3.5%, Sodium 0.9%, Fiber 0.3%.

ADMINISTRATION

Broodmare (500 kg):
50g / day starting 60 days prior to breeding and throughout the pregnancy
Stallions (500 kg): 25 to 50g / day according to the number of mares being covered/semen collections needs

Add to the usual ration. The simultaneous use of different organic acids or their salts is contraindicated where one or more of them is used at or near the maximum permitted content.
